Susannah replied to Christian Conrad's discussion 'Sustainable Luxury in Eastern Europe / esp. Russia'
From the research I did when starting a luxury lifestyle brand for the Prince of Georgia we did not find much interest in sustainability. Perhaps just a bit from the social perspective in more of a philanthropic sense of eventual charitable giving…

Christian Conrad replied to Susannah's discussion 'Can Wine really be luxury and sustainable?'
I think that wine is like many other products - only partially sustainable. However, where I feel that quality wines have a real edge over other "sustainable" food products is there is traceability. Most higher quality wines are…

Can Wine really be luxury and sustainable?

I've just relocated to California and am interested by the plethora of wineries touting the "sustainability" flag. Most are simply partially green and often have contradictory practices. As the sustainability trifecta includes environment, social/cultural AND economic considerations, if a product touches just one aspect should they be able to say they are "sustainable"?If wine sector starts incorporating changes such as screw-caps, plastic corks or tetra-pak boxes can they really still be…See More

Im interested in authentic luxury because:
The purpose of luxury and that of sustainability/philanthropy are both transformation yet most cannot see the possibilities for synergies to create multidimensional value

Hi Susannah,
Thanks for the message. It was something I had thought about a while ago actually. I am waiting to design real structured bras for SS09 - it would be a great PR campaign then. If there is anything you would like from our collection I am happy to give a discount to authentic luxury members - 20% off non sale items. CODE: AUTHLUXECO_B20
Just let me know. Jenny

Thanks Susannah.

Yes, Kailash was the founder of RugMark and is still very involved.

I can't wait to see how your Marine Positive program progresses.

We are working to increase awareness among consumers and within the trade but still have a long way to go...

All the best to you and much success in 2008!

Thanks Susannah!

RugMark doesn't have an organization in Italy yet so we'll have to wait - but your idea is a great one!

Believe it or not - we still have difficulty gaining adoption of the certification process by designers, retailers and manufacturers. It makes you wonder...

I visited your website - clearly it's a work in progress; am I correct in assuming it is similar to carbon offsets?

Kind regards,

Scott Welker
