Future of Luxury on the Horizon in Latin America

The world's first sustainable luxury award winners were announced in Buenos Aires earlier this month. The awards recognise outstanding leadership towards sustainable luxury, and are open to any company with a business connection to Latin America. All the winners were small enterprises, which indicates how entrepreneurs, and their young companies, are embracing sustainability to move ahead in the luxury sector. Im interested in authentic luxury because:
It could lead the way in the creation of more socially and environmentally responsible products and services, as well as their more conscious consumption. Luxury brands could help portray sustainability as aspirational, especially in emerging markets.

Painful to Watch! Does Hublot's mocking of violence suggest luxury brands have far to go in becoming responsible companies?

The battered face of F1 head Bernie Ecclestone features in a new advert for the Swiss watch brand Hublot following his mugging in London in November. The 80-year-old features in an ad with the tag-line ‘See what people will do for a Hublot’.

The advert was attacked by the group Victim Support. "Everyone reacts differently to crime,” a Victim Support spokesman told the BBC. "Although it appears Bernie Ecclestone can make light of the incident and get on with his life, for many…

Hi Lem
To answer your concerns about first of all the social impact of our product,
we are not just generating jobs with this, we are creating dreams also.
On the environmental side it is unfortunate, yes, that we do not have hydrogen cars yet. As you know the planet is very much in danger not just from Co2 but as well as savage dumping. we are traveling to remote areas of this beauty full country, as we go along we follow very strict guide lines to minimize our effect on the environment. and do pick up any thing we can for waste management. when not possible we contact the proper authorities.
I recommend you come and visit Oman during the months of October to April.
for a minimum of 15 days and up since the Sultanate of Oman as so much to offer.

Hi Jem,

Let me just say, as the luxury designer for NICOLINA, that behind the scenes we are conscious of and proactive in ensuring any materials used comply under the Washingon Act for the protection of endangered species.

Furthermore, we only work with Italian tanneries, where all premium Italian leathers are sourced from in Veneto and Toscana.

We always try and find the origin of our materials, by asking questions of suppliers and seeing documentation - we strictly do not make any component offshore even though we pay dearly for our production - but at least we can say all NICOLINA luxury creations are 100% Made in Italy by adult luxury shoe craftsmen!

Best rgds,
Jeremy
