Is possible to have all the luxury of home or even more whilst travelling and still remain socially and / or environmentally responsible? No...? I disagree. Please read on a bit more about weekeego, the travel responsible online community and learn it is possible.
I invite you to travel with us for example to Mozambique where Lake Niassa is located.
"In 1996 five friends, all with a pioneering spirit and passion for Africa, embarked on a mission to build a new safari lodge in Mozambique. Their dream was to provide guests with beautiful accommodation from which they could explore the surrounding wilderness and communities.
One of the main goals was to ensure the lodge helped to protect wildlife and provide social and economic benefits for local people. The result is our Lodge.
We aim to provide the guests with a special stay in a unique place." (the words of the owners)

Here in weekeego, we are not interested in pseudo culture. We want to show the world as it is REALLY is within each community. We don't want our travelers only to see what's abroad. We want everyone to participate and experience the local way of living - be part of it!! Compare those 2 statements:
- "yes I have been there"
- "yes I have been a part of the local culture"
Which one of them would you like to use when someone asks you about the destination you have visited.
These are local meaningful journeys where our members will either live directly with local folks and / or where they will directly interact with them. Our spots manage their own projects or / and closely work with local NGOs thus there is an opportunity to contribute towards the local communities, such as for example teaching English, protecting wildlife, helping out in medical centers etc. There is plenty to do around the globe.
As you can see it is undoubtedly possible to combine luxury with a responsible way of travel. Lodge in Mozambique isn't the only luxury place we offer; there is more such as Kenya, Sri Lanka, Vietnam... Find out more on www.weekeego.com!
